what the health – Eine Welt. Deine Gesundheit! | traveling exhibition about nutrition, climate and health
Health is one of the most precious human goods and a central condition for individual well-being. Our diet is the key to our health and the health of our planet. What we buy and eat plays a decisive role.
The exhibition »What the Health – One World. Your Health« takes visitors to the place where we make big and small decisions every day: the supermarket.
At fruit, vegetable and meat counters, interactive multimedia displays explain how our eating and consumption habits directly or indirectly affect human health and the health of the planet, how our food system contributes to climate change and how our immune system actually works. The exhibition is accompanied by a web application that allows visitors to playfully find out how healthy and sustainable their weekly shopping is. The exhibition ends in a „future café“: Here, visitors are gently and optimistically introduced to ways in which they can apply their newly acquired knowledge in everyday life and contribute to a healthier future.
The fact that the exhibition is primarily aimed at young people is not only evident from the colourful and interactive design: Pupils were actively involved in the design process and even contributed their own audio guide. The theme of sustainability is reflected not only in the content, but also in the choice of materials and a durable construction.
