D’Lëtzebuerger Sprooch(en) traveling exhibition about Luxembourg's multilingualism
Multilingualism is a given in Luxembourg. The majority of the population speaks four languages: In addition to Luxembourgish, German, French and English are also spoken in the Grand Duchy. This linguistic dynamic is omnipresent at school, at work and in everyday life. The Luxembourgish language plays a special role and is promoted by the government through numerous initiatives as a language of communication, integration language and literary language.
For this reason, it goes without saying that a traveling exhibition about multilingualism in Luxembourg should also be offered in multiple languages - a challenge in terms of content and design. All content and the associated web app are available in Luxembourgish, French, German and English. Participatory elements and the playful control of interactions with your own smartphone make the exhibition sustainable and exciting not only for a young target group.
The exhibition has been traveling through Luxembourg and Europe since June 2023. The transport containers also form the exhibition architecture: four containers and a table module are rolled into the exhibition room, opened and connected - the exhibition is ready. The modules adapt to any room, whether narrow or wide, large or small.
